The most visible and valued services provided by the Oso Fire Department is our response to all-hazard emergency events that affect the citizens in the area in which we serve. We provide a variety of emergency services including:
FIRE SUPPRESSION
Members of the Oso Fire Department are capable of responding to a wide variety of fires. Structures, vehicles, brush, and hazmat fires all present significant challenges that need to be handled quickly and decisively. All personnel partake in regular training to make sure they are ready to engage and extinguish the fire safely.
EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES
Emergency medical events can happen at anytime. The department has dedicated EMTs and First Responders that can respond to a wide variety of emergencies. The department is capable of providing Basic Life Support (BLS) transports to local hospitals. Oso Fire also partners with other agencies to provide Advanced Life Support (ALS).
RESCUE
In addition to Fire and EMS calls, the department responds to challenging rescue calls. With the area rivers, trails, weather, and terrain, people can find themselves in need of help. The department provides dedicated personnel for swift water (river) rescue and partners with other agencies to provide staff and equipment for trail rescues.
